Previous English fund serves George Osborne, a key adversary of Brexit, said Wednesday he was stopping parliament, however, would "continue battling" for England as manager of London's Night Standard daily paper.
"I am venturing down from the Place of House - for the time being," Osborne wrote in a letter to his constituents, welcoming a potential rebound.
"I will continue battling for that England I adore from the manager's seat of an extraordinary daily paper," he said.
The 45-year-old was delegated as editorial manager of the Night Standard - England's fourth-biggest daily paper by flow - in Spring.
