India's drift watch reported Sunday it had seized 1.5 tons of heroin worth nearly $550 million from a vendor transport in what oceanic experts are calling their biggest ever sedate bust.

The ship was caught Saturday off the western province of Gujarat, the drift protect said in an announcement.

"This is the biggest single pull of opiates seized till date," it stated, including the medications were justified regardless of an expected $545 million.
